Overview
Responsible gambling services must be provided wherever gambling activities are undertaken.
In the hospitality industry, the gambling environment is usually referred to as the gaming area and is provided in a range of venues such as hotels, motels, clubs, pubs and casinos.
The 2 major forms of gambling in Qld are
- Wagering such as horse racing and sports betting
- Gaming such as gaming machines, table games, Keno and lotteries.
Employees encouraged to complete the RGS include gaming nominees, licensed gaming attendants, table game attendants, croupiers and multi-skilled food and beverage attendants.
This course developes the skills and knowledge required to provide responsible gambling
services and to provide information to customers about problem gambling.
Course Overview
During the course you will be assessed on your understanding of;
- Understanding the nature of gambling activities
- Provide information to players
- Interact with customers and community
- Utilise exclusion provisions
- Create a safe physical environment
- Manage financial transactions
- Develop and implement advertising and promotional strategies
A statement of attainment will be issued within 24 hours for the successful completion of the course.
