SITHGAM006A – Provide Responsible Gambling Services (RSG)

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to responsibly provide gambling services & information to customers who require assistance with their problem gambling. The unit also relates to satisfying the requirements for providing responsible gambling services under state and territory legislation. The terms used to describe this course varies across state and territory regulatory bodies, and can include Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) and Responsible Service of Gaming (RSG).

After completing the course participants will be expected to understand:

Profile of gambling industry
Reasons for and personal impacts of gambling problems
Principles of harm minimisation
Indicators of problem gambling
Roles of government, industry and enterprise in RSG
Enterprise RSG procedures and information provided to assist in RSG especially self-exclusion and exclusion procedures

Upon completion of this course, the following elements of competency will be achieved:

Provide responsible service of gambling (RSG)
Provide information and assistance to customers about problem gambling

Target Population
This unit applies to all levels of sales personnel who work at a licensed premises, engaged in the supply & service of gaming, including: Licensees, Nominees, Managers, Duty Managers, Gaming Attendants / Keno & TAB Operators, Floor Staff, etc
